Healing Vibrations of the Voice

The power of sound, vibrations

and colour

Positive mental and physical health and wellbeing

The power of sound and colour vibrations has been known for thousands of years and it is only now that these are being researched and talked about as a way forward for positive mental and physical health and wellbeing. In singing, which the Indian Sufi's refer to as 'The Divine Art',  is particularly powerful and especially so with the unique method of Bel Canto breathing and focused resonance.

As well as my general vocal teaching, I have been researching and using this for many years, working with children and adults with learning difficulties, mental and physical disabilities, stress, depression and fatigue, as well as for good general health and I have had many positive results.

I believe, vibrations and resonance of our own voices are the most powerful and we can all benefit and improve our health and mental state by learning basic methods on how to create and use it.

I give practical workshops and talks on sound and colour vibration, cymatics (sound made visible), its practical uses and how we can use it for our mental and physical health.

Workshops can also be tailored for children.

Online interview with Tobias Kaye, about my singing and healing work. Here is a link to the video.

La Nova Singers voices made visible through cymatics

Muusika - Pärt Uusberg (with Sound-to-Color Lighting by Mr. E)

The colors you see are the sounds you hear! That is, I have written software that converts audio into colors on my LED rings in real-time. The outer ring shows the colors of the lows, the middle ring shows the colors of the mids and the inner ring shows the colors of the highs. My software simply converts the peak audio frequency in those bands into colors by multiplying the frequencies by 2 until the octaves reach the visible color spectrum. To produce this video I simply layered the video of the light rings showing the colors of the audio in real-time, and added some effects in Final Cut Pro to boost the enjoyment of the audio-visual experience. Finally, I layered in some effects to an image of a beautiful sunset as a capstone. The words shown are the English translations of the poem Muusika by Juhan Liiv (1864-1913) on which is the musical composition. Enjoy, and kudos to Michelle and her La Nova Singers for this incredible piece!
